New Evidence Favors SE Asian or South Chinese Dog Domestication

Dogs were almost surely the first domesticated animal. But, there is dispute over where dogs were domesticated with different studies based on different evidence reaching different conclusions. New evidence suggests that the lion's share of modern dogs, based on Y-DNA and mtDNA diversity, suggests that they have roots in dogs domesticated in Southeast Asia or South China.
