Modern Humans Didn't Invent Fire

Controlled use of fire predates the evolution of modern humans by hundreds of thousands of years. I had thought this was relatively uncontroversial, but perhaps I was wrong. At any rate, new evidence strengthens the case that Homo erectus or Homo ergaster, rather than modern humans or someone else, where the first to make controlled use of fire.
