French researchers have pinned down a most likely location for a hypothetical Planet 9, some significant areas of the proposed orbit that are ruled out, and a lot of places on the proposed orbit that are neither ruled out nor favored.  Somebody still has to point a high powered telescope at the right place at the right time, but the places such a telescope should look have been greatly prioritized by the latest study.
