Hum, Definitely colors the picture that the Ottoman empire was the descendent of the Byzantine. I can see adding Caesar to the Sultans' titles.
Good insight. I hadn't ever thought of it quite that way, but that correlation which presumably has some cause has a lot to be said for it.
