Orion's Nebula Probably Home To Black Hole
The Great Orion Nebula, in the constellation Orion, which is about 1000 light years away from Earth (within the Milky Way galaxy and closer than the galaxy's central black hole), is probably home to the closest black hole to our solar system. Some of the stars meaningfully influenced by this possible black hole can be seen with binoculars from Earth and have been known since Galileo's time almost four hundred years ago. More stars in the Nebula can be seen with a decent telescope.
