Brains aren't just for vertebrates. One of the smartest creatures on Earth is the octopus. A
recent learning experiment conducted on them illustrates their intelligence. A kidnapped octopus from the harbor unable to carry out a difficult task to reach food was able to learn it quickly and effectively after seeing a trained octopus carry out the task.
